We helped Buzz communicate the ways they support mental health and wellbeing in a really accessible way, through use of illustration, infographics and animation.
Having developed Buzz’s values, and worked with them on their vision and mission, we had deep insight and understanding of the way they operate, their goals and their desire to build connection and support for their staff, across all clubs and the support centre. With this knowledge we collaborated with them on the colleague app Zingo, launched in early 2019, which quickly became a popular platform for staff to engage with the business and communicate and share ideas across all teams.
During the first COVID lockdown in 2020, Buzz realised the huge impact on their staff. As soon as they had stabilised the business and addressed immediate challenges, they focussed on how they could support and engage with their employees, leading to the creation of the ‘Caring Community’. This initiative was launched with the goal of making sure that all Colleagues were supported in the best way possible, not just during covid and lockdowns, but long into the future.
We partnered with a cross business group, led by the Learning and Development team, to develop an identity for the Caring Community. Designed to be an overall brand and split into three distinct areas of focus – ‘Health & Wellbeing’, ‘Working Together to Get Things Done’ and ‘Setting You Up For Success’.
We instantly began work on a range of stand alone infographics that provided easy-to-access, practical support across a wide range of topics. We covered content such as ‘How to Set Up to Work From Home’, ‘Healthy Eating Swaps’, cheat sheets for ‘Getting to Grips with MS Teams’, and tips for ‘Smart Budgeting’. To-date there are over 130 infographics and pieces of content that cover a wide range of topics where colleagues might seek support.
The assets were released onto the Zingo platform for all to access, as well as being collated into a toolkit. Staff were really engaged, often adding their own tips and exchanging suggestions. In addition, we created some animated pieces around healthy eating and exercise. We ensured these were simple, fun ideas that could be achieved at home, embedded in research about the importance of taking small steps to effect habit change.
The assets are still relevant four years later, with new content being released regularly on the Zingo platform. This legacy of care and support has really cemented the trust and loyalty of staff across the company, and created a culture of openness and empathy throughout Buzz.
This is just wonderful! This certainly makes me proud to work at Buzz!
I’m really looking forward to seeing this initiative unfold!
